Deputy head of Department of Architectural Engineering

Studied at Czech Technical University in Prague (finished 1981). Study stays at TU Vienna, ETH Zurig, DTU Lyngby. PhD studies finished 1989.

1998 Assoc.prof.

2006 Professor for theory of building constructions and materials

Scientific fields: thermal performance of buildings, advanced building-energy concepts, design of optimized components of building envelope, sustainability of built environment.

Since 1997 head of national standardization committee for thermal performance of buildings. Author of national standards in this area.

Key researcher at newly established University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings (UCEEB).

Supervisor of 8 PhD theses.

Leader and co-leader of 6 national research projects, 4 international projects. Member of design team of 3 nationally awarded advanced buildings.

More than 100 research-based publications, 3 books.

Co-initiator and vice-head of scientific board of conference series CESB (Central Europe towards Sustainable Building)
