Anotation:

Converting an architectural study into a detailed design of a chosen building.

Goals:

Design of the load-bearing system, preliminary static analysis (calculation of load-bearing elements dimensions), calculation of foundations, design of structures on the building envelope with respect to thermal protection of buildings, building physics and fire protection of buildings, waterproofing of the building substructure, detailed drawings including details.

Requirements:

Exams in concrete and steel structures, geotechnics, building structures and thermal protection of buildings.

Seminars:

Documentation for the specialization Building structures:

  • 2 or 3 variants of the structural system in the form of layouts of bearing elements (1:200)
  • 3 floor plans (1:100 or 1:50)
  • plan of foundations (1:100 or 1:50)
  • 2 sections (1:50)
  • one technical elevation (1:100)
  • layout
  • 3 - 5 structural details (1:5)
  • technical report (calculations)

Ending term:

For granting an assessment student must:

  • submit the documentation for each specialist (documentation must be positively evaluated)
  • produce construction drawings listed above
  • actively participate in courses at least 9 times per term (active participation = consultation of drawings, calculations, etc.).
